Secure device pairing & manager

Ledger Live's Manager lets you install and uninstall cryptocurrency apps on your Ledger device. Each app corresponds to a blockchain family (for example, Bitcoin, Ethereum). App installation is performed through Ledger Live while the device stores keys securely. When adding accounts, Ledger Live never exposes private keys — only public addresses and signed transactions pass through the host device.

Accounts, receive, and send

Create accounts for different cryptocurrencies and use the Receive feature to display an address both in Ledger Live and on the hardware device for verification. To send funds, construct the transaction in Ledger Live and confirm the details directly on your hardware wallet. This two-step verification ensures addresses cannot be substituted by malware on your computer.

Portfolio & analytics

Ledger Live aggregates balances across accounts and shows portfolio value and historical performance. Use the analytics to review fees, token activity, and to export transaction histories for tax reporting. Ledger Live supports CSV export and integrates with select third-party portfolio tools.

Buy, sell, swap (partner services)

Ledger Live integrates with regulated partners so you can buy, sell, or swap tokens directly inside the app. Partners are vetted and presented in-app; always review partner terms before transacting. For buying and swapping, confirm the transaction on your device before approving.

Staking & earning

Supported assets can be staked directly through Ledger Live, with rewards sent to your accounts. Staking typically requires installing the appropriate app on your Ledger device and following the staking flow in Ledger Live. Review the validator or partner details and be aware of lockup periods for certain assets.

Integrations & dApps

Ledger Live supports integrations with selected desktop wallets and decentralized applications. For web-based dApps, use Ledger's companion integrations to sign messages and transactions while keeping keys offline. Only connect to reputable dApps and verify transaction details on-device.

Security model

Ledger Live is designed around the principle that private keys never leave the hardware device. The device signs transactions and returns signatures to Ledger Live. Additional protections include firmware verification, app signature checks, and recommended user practices:
